First Full Moon Hash Report May 31, 2013

Hare: Nam Ron Locale: Rai Boon Rawd orchard Nine intrepid hashers gathered at Rico’s bar around 6:45 pm in anticipation of a night time A to D run in a location yet to be disclosed. Not to be caught unprepared most fortified themselves with beer which the ever cautious Puck Off and her pal Virgin Wendi supplemented with food. Forty five minutes past the appointed hour, these courageous few assembled themselves in two vehicles headed past Rai Mae Fah Luang Gardens. Eventually the vehicles stopped and Nam Ron opened the ice box for further fortification. Oral Banger and Loose Stool set a fast pace at the beginning which soon petered out as surplus liquid weighed on their soul. Your faithful correspondent followed stodgily behind but soon found himself in good company from the first check onwards. The pace deteriorated in direction proportion to alcohol imbibed with the effects reinforced at points B and C. Virgins Brian and Bill who did not indulge set the pace but the checks kept them so busy that they were never more than a few minutes ahead of the walkers whose numbers increased as the “run” progressed. If there was a full moon out there, no one would know it. The sky was mostly overcast. However finding the way was not difficult. Most people brought flashlights which the hare supplemented for the improvident and the light thus shone was magnified by the luminosity of the dirt tracks. The run from A to B was about 3 km. Points B to C stretched another 2 km mostly uphill leading to a vantage point overlooking the city lights. Then C to D was a little over a kilometer making the total run of a little more than 6 km. No one complained about it being too short. At the circle thereafter there were some feeble attempts to improvise songs to claim the reward offered by the hare. The usually ribaldry and jokes were more successful. The hare announced that he had learned in Chiangmai that according to hash traditions, the particularity of hash nomenclature should never be compromised by the inclusion of a person’s routine name. Hence “Alexander the Average” would have to change. It was then revealed that this individual has been uniquely successful avoiding the endearing embraces of a local partner so the new name was then unanimously acclaimed “Unthai-ed.” Wirgin Bluce Hash Sec
