Right, so the next hash, and the last of the decade, will be taking place at Rampant Rabbit's house.
An in-out-and-back of circa 5km, with a pool at the house if anyone fancies a polar bear jump!
Also, remember to bring something for the Potluck Christmas meal!
In case anyone wasn't at the last hash we had at this house a few months ago, here's the location:
Near Doi Hang, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai 57000

Christmas Hash will be on Saturday 14 December, hared in a country location close to Chiangrai by Rampant Rabbit. It will be Pot Luck, meaning bring some food for all to share in the spirit of the festive season. The November success was a tremendous success and was enjoyed by 16 attendees thanks to wonderful harework by Running S#&t Mouth and partner and Hopeful Future Alcoholic. The calming water features of Nong Pound Lake and stunning vistas of Buffalo Hill were highlights. Here are some happy snaps from the event thanks to Dirty Hippy F&@ker and Takes It Up The B@&t.

The route is about 6 km long mostly off-road and hilly. There are some false / u-turn parts, so not exactly a circuit but not exactly out and back. Nice views and some pictures required to show when everyone gets back!
We have a big pool!!! so let people know to bring swimwear and a towel if they want to cool off afterwards!! Start time: 4pm, as per usual.

Next Hash and ELECTIONS - tentative date set for July 27th.
Alright, everyone, depending on what the current hare says, next hash will hopefully happen on Saturday 27th. (If it doesn't happen with the scheduled hare, then I have a less than ideal backup plan).
Also, I (Bad Hobbit) am currently the only committee member remaining, as other members have now, or will be, leaving Chiang Rai.
Also last hash, after I busted my arse setting a trail, getting lost in the bushes, and doing myself an injury climbing on a barbed wire fence . . . it ended up not happening, as only two people turned up, one of them being Illinoying Swamparse, the then-GM and Hash Cash (who, again, is now in the process of leaving)
So basically, if you want the hash to keep going, you'd better turn up for this one.

Hash June 22nd 2019 Directions
This month's hash will take place at Janpha Cottage.
Drive over the Mae Fah Luang bridge, follow the signs for Wat Huay Pla Kang (the temple with a Chinese-style pagoda and a giant white statue of Guayin).
Follow the main road - but when you get to the intersection whereby you have to turn right to get to the temple, *don't* turn right - instead keep going until you see a sign on your left for Janpha Cottage.
Follow the dirt track up to the cottages place, plenty of parking.
Start time: 4pm

MAY HASH CANCELLED
Exactly what it says. The air quality is still not at acceptable levels, and the authorities approach to handling the crisis seems to be, basically, to do nothing while kids and elderly people choke on the pollution.
So next hash is third saturday of June.

March and April - NO HASH
Exactly what it says.
The air quality has been getting worse and worse every year, more and more illegal burning, aided and abetted by corrupt, ineffectual politicians and police who either can't or won't enforce the law.
And it's school holiday time, during which time many of us will be out of the country, whether Harry Potter-ing it up in Blightly, in Bali, or adventuring in Singapore and Malaysia (and trying not to get caned in the latter case).
So, next hash will be third Saturday of May

Directions to the February Hash on Saturday 16th February 2019:
The hash will start at 3.45 pm. The route includes some paved roads but also some rough terrain and there is little shade.
The starting point for the hash is Nong Bua lake. You can find it on Google Maps, south of the 1020 highway and east of the Lao River, not far from "Chiangrai Cheese".
To get there, head south on the Superhighway and turn left at the traffic lights after Big C (taking the 1020 towards Thoeng).
Continue on this road through the traffic lights at the major junction and over the hump-backed bridge with a view of a windmill on the right.
Shortly after crossing the bridge, at the first break in the central reservation, make a U-turn heading back towards the windmill.
Just past the signage for ‘The Fine Residence’ there is currently a contraflow system (to get over the blocked bridge).
At the very start of the contraflow keep left (to avoid the contraflow) and then turn left about 50 meters before you reach the windmill. (Google Maps marks this corner as a "Car Battery Store." ) We will have "HHH" signs strategically placed.
This road (which follows the Lao River) leads to Nong Bua lake, which you will see on your left after about 3 kilometers. Park as near as possible to the sala built on the lake.
If you are unable to follow these directions, or if you are interested in doing a carpool/following another member, feel free to call the contact below or post on our facebook page.
