May 16th - Write Up

Some 40+ hashers showed up at Wirgin Bruce and Wild Woman’s beautiful property.

The high attendance rate was first believed to be a consequence of the free food offering, but the circle clarified things: everybody wanted to make sure Namron was really leaving… and to ensure he suffered enough so he wouldn’t change his mind.

Learning from the two previous disasters, Wirgin Bruce proposed a new way of doing checks: no checks whatsoever. False trails? Yes, plenty. Also, 2 paths: a long and hard one for the few brave ones, a short and easy one for the lazy spineless couch potatoes “others”.

The next run date in the LBH3 calendar is nearing as we gather together to pay memorial respects to our sadly departed GM Humperdick and to celebrate the departure of a Lanna Legend - Namron (heading back to the US with his family). All the stops have been pulled out to produce an outstanding (all weather) run with great food and endless beer for your hashing delight.

Pan Africa Hash 2015

The Pan Africa Hash 2015 event was moved from Freetown, Sierra Leone to Malindi, Kenya because of unavoidable circumstances.

I just got an earful from Wirgin Bruce saying I was not clear enough in my comments. Here is the gist of it:

SEND HIM AN E-MAIL IF YOU COME, HE AND HIS WIFE WILL FORCE FEED YOU, EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT HUNGRY, FREE OF CHARGE. 

HE NEEDS TO KNOW THE AMOUNT OF FOOD HE NEEDS TO PREPARE ASAP.

Time: 4 PM (show up a bit before)
Special attire: Swim suits and towels for the lake

Transportation challenged people: Wirgin Bruce 089-635-3224 and Namron 089-661-5840 will take care of you

Directions:
1-Starting at the Big C.
2-Drive south along the Super Highway and turn left at the traffic lights. This puts you on Highway 1020.
3-Go along this road about six kilometres until you reach the second set of traffic lights. This is a t-junction where you will turn left.
4-Proceed along this road 2 km until you see Santiburi Golf Course on your right. Turn into the golf complex.
5-Once past the gates you will soon encounter another t-junction. Turn right here and continue along this road for 2 km always keeping to the right.
6-Eventually you come to a lake on the left hand side. Then you will see a set of six houses one of which is under construction. Park wherever you can on the cul de sac. You have arrived.

Sorry for the spam but Wirgin Bruce was threatening my whole family, including my gold fish. I really hope I got it right this time.

May 16th Hash, Directions

Wirgin Bruce will be the hare for the next Hash.

He and Wild Woman will be providing (free!) food for us so please let them know before Wednesday if you plan to eat (bruce.kennedy1@gmail.com).

It might be a good idea to bring a bathing suit and a towel, see below.

Hi all

     Wild Woman and I are hares for the upcoming hash on Saturday May 16. One of our group's founders, Nam Ron along with his wife Dr Noot and sons Ranger and Wild Bill, will be leaving Chiang Rai for the U.S. shortly afterwards so we are going to put on a little food for after the hash to celebrate the occasion. All are welcome to participate in our hash including newcomers and old timers who haven't been around for awhile, but in order to plan the food, Wild Woman would appreciate if all planning to attend let me know your intentions at bruce.kennedy1@gmail.com by Wednesday May 13.

The run will begin and end at the Wild Woman house. As it is hot these days we will begin at 4 p.m.

PS: Anyone who wants to cool off quickly after the run is welcome to go for a swim in our lake. We also have a kayak and paddle boat but users will inevitably get wet. So bring a swim suit and towel. We have a shower and changing area.
